It is occasionally discussed, but they don’t help me take practical steps to make it happen.
My personal objectives are regularly reviewed and Exit Planning is always a focus topic.

No, business growth and increasing sales, profit and cash flow is not on their agenda.
Sometimes, but that normally comes down to things we should do to cut costs.
They say this is what they offer, but in practice we don’t get any real growth support.
This and progress against plan is always the primary topic of discussion in every meeting.

4. Does your accountant help you plan and forecast future profit and cash flow projections?
No, this is not something my accountant does for us.
They talk about the need to control cash flow but don’t provide any help to do so.
They provide a very basic forecasting service, but we don’t have any real future visibility.
Planning, forecasting and reporting performance vs forecast is a core part of the service.

5. When was the last time your accountant offered or helped you with strategic tax planning, such as identifying tax credits or deductions?
Never - they just focus on getting our annual accounts submitted.
They might mention a deduction here or there, but they don't seem to be proactive about it.
They've helped me with strategic tax planning in the past, but it's not something we do regularly.
My accountant is great at identifying tax credits and deductions that could benefit my business.

6. Do you meet your accountant regularly to review performance vs target?
No, once a year at best and even that is just an email exchange and maybe a phone call.
We meet once a year to discuss the Year End accounts, but not performance vs target.
They talk about reviewing performance vs target, but it's not a service we have discussed.
We review the 'Management Pack' as a core part of our regular management meetings.

7. Does your accountant offer financial and exit planning training for you and your team?
No, we have never received any formal guidance relating to financial management or exit planning.
Very occasionally they offer events / seminars, but these appear very ad-hoc.
They run various events and networking, but don’t offer any formal training / education.
Business Growth and Exit Planning training and support are a core part of the service.

8. Does your accountant help you systemise finance, plan and prepare for a successful exit?
No, exit planning is not something our accountant has ever talked about.
I don’t know if they offer any form of support or assistance with Exit Planning.
They discuss the future and the need to plan, but this is not a service we receive.
Systemising the business to make it 'Exit Ready' is central to the service we receive.

9. Does your accountant provide you with a complete outsource finance department?
No, they only provide us with the basic year end accounting services.
They offer payroll, VAT and bookkeeping services, but not outsource finance management.
They offer Part-Time FD services and other services, but not full outsource finance.
We outsource all of our Financial Management and operations to our accountant.
